Andy presenting to an audience of multiple SMEs at the Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne

Andy has spent the last 14 years in a number of roles within the same organisation (restricted by a Non-Disclosure Agreement). These roles have included critical incident management, incident response, risk assessment and management, leadership in safeguarding, management of a team, problem solving and multi-agency partnership working.

Since January 2018 Andy has been specialising in cybercrime and cyber security. Andy has provided support to a variety of organisations in the initiation and management of their response to a serious cyber incident.

Working with various sectors he has helped organisations shape their business continuity and incident response plans around cyber crime. He has also delivered cybercrime awareness training and education to a wide variety of audiences in organisations of all sizes and sectors.

I thought it was great. Andy explained everything without using jargon and at a level I could understand. His enthusiasm and sense of humour meant that a potential dry and dull subject, was actually really interesting and a fun presentation.

Senior Leader, Education

In the year prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Andy has presented cyber awareness training to 2456 people from all types of organisations:

  • multi-national corporations
  • Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
  • charities
  • the education sector
  • the health sector
  • law enforcement (domestic and foreign)
  • local Government

Andy has delivered tabletop exercises to C-Suite and Senior Executive teams across a range of sectors from multinational businesses to healthcare. The Covid-19 pandemic drove a change in delivery style, with Andy adapting to online training through platforms including Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and WebEx.

Andy Rawlinson was brilliant, there was a room of 16 senior hard nose print and IT professionals who all came away energised and more knowledgeable plus it is always a good sign that the 2 hours flew by and left the audience asking for more

Senior Executive, Multi-National Firm

A STEM Ambassador, Andy has led numerous outreach workshops for adults and young people with an interest in the cyber world. Andy has conducted one-to-one interventions with those who have committed cyber offences, or those who family or professionals believe are on the cusp of doing so. These interventions have provided significant insight into the world of the cyber offender. This outreach and intervention work has enabled Andy to inspire and influence young people who have an aptitude for the world of cyber.

These unusual experiences have enabled Andy to sit with the Home Office and National Crime Agency (NCA) on numerous occasions to help shape policy, strategy and tactical options under the UK National Cyber Security Strategy with national impact. Andy continues to influence the national picture on delivery.

Potentially dry information was presented in a very relevant and interesting manner. The presenter, Andy, was excellent. The tone was right, and the information imparted made people sit up and think.
